Immature Stages of Mycetophagidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Mycetophagidae is being acquired. However, Clausen (1940) noted that the larvae of Berginus maindroni Grouv. Are believed to feed extensively on the lac insect, Laccifer lacca Ker., and on the lac itself, in India. Pupation occurs within the egg chamber of the female host coccid.
